The Descendants
The Descendants is a column about music and it is very important. It is about indie music and it is also about punk music and it is also about how those two genres are sometimes related to each other. Indiestuffs is very important business these days and small children are going to great lengths to find out about and listen to new indie bands and such and this is sometimes pretty bonkers to think about. This column is about how this whole crazy thing was started by a bunch of skinny, smelly, lanky suburban kids who felt inclined to drive around the United States and get sweaty in gross basements and youth centers and the like. This column puts a lot of effort into not sounding like it is written by an old man. This column is about individual songs that have come out recently. This column is very important and it will begin to make more sense if you start to read one of the editions and here are all of the editions that have been posted on this website so far:
The Descendants #1: Vampire Weekend “A-Punk”
The Descendants #2: Animal Collective “My Girls”
The Descendants #3: Ke$ha “Party at a Rich Dude’s House”
The Descendants #4: Fleet Foxes “White Winter Hymnal”
